Ray DeTone Rockazine Interview - by Leah Quinn

Well - I recently had the wonderful opportunity to interview the magnificant Ray DeTone and learn more about his just released CD aptly named, "Strange World". His Strange World CD consists of 13 songs, of which my favs are the songs titled, "King's Court" and "The Gypsy's Dance". You can learn more about Ray DeTone and where he may be playing next at his website www.raydetone.com. I got to sit down and chat awhile with Ray in Yonkers, New York at a local restaurant with the bar's TV playing in the background, we got down to business and got the interview started.

Ray DeTone's music and writing has its own style as you will see him describe in part one of our interview and has been endorsed by many companies. Lucky Ray! With his hard rock and metal sound, his songs ring through, showing on occassion, his classical guitar training and I learned a lot about his influences such as the Gentle Giants while growing up. He even had Aerosmith's Steve Tyler's Dad, known affectionally as Uncle Vic as his guitar teacher while he was in High School. Ray has played on tours in Europe and is an artist not to be reckoned with. Enjoy the chat!

The interview is in four parts

part one - learn about Ray DeTone's "Strange World" CD

part two - learn about Uncle Vic and his take on Jimi Hendrix

part three - learn about his Gentle Giant influences and how he writes his songs

part four - learn about his endorsements and the conclusion of the Rockazine.com interview with Ray DeTone
